Rock and Paver Painting: Friendship Rocks, Holiday Inspired, House Numbers, Pet Memorial and Remembrance, Themed and Customization Rocks

My inspiration began when I ran into a grocery store to pick a few items. I walked over to the avocado bin and there was a painted rock sitting among the avocados. I picked it up, intrigued by this piece of art, but was not sure what to do with it. I remember seeing one of my friends post something on Facebook about finding a painted rock while hiking. I reached out to her and she told me the story of the painted friendship rocks. Friendship rocks are intentionally left in places to bring a little joy and happiness into someone’s life. When you find them you can take it and keep it, take it and leave somewhere else for someone to find, or you can leave it as you found it.

As I paint these rocks, I find that not only does it bring me so much joy, but I also find it to be very therapeutic.  When I give my rocks to friends and family, I am sharing with them a little love and a little piece of myself. Many of these little treasures help in times of stress where as one can rub the rock for mediation or therapy, bring people to their place of happiness like the beach, or provide a moment of peace in a remembrance of a pet, or a symbol, as in a cardinal, of someone they lost. 

When I am painting a rock for someone in particular, I always try to incorporate something meaningful for him or her.  As I know when they receive a rock from me, the image on the rock will bring an emotional connection and hopefully a huge smile.
